Did you know?

1. Cats need to consume a substance called tryptophan, which is found in milk, eggs and poultry, in order to sleep well. Without it, they can become insomniacs.

2. During the Second World War an amazing cat named Oscar served on the German battleship Bismarck. When the Bismarck was torpedoed, Oscar was rescued by a British sailor from HMS Cossack. Five months later HMS Cossack was sunk but Oscar was rescued by HMS Ark Royal. Just three weeks later a German U-boat destroyed the Ark Royal and Oscar was rescued again. 3. Apparently, snakes don’t wee (pee). They secrete and excrete uric acid, which is a solid and chalky, usually
white substance.

4. The longest time a mammal will be pregnant is two years, and that is the African Elephant.

5. Giraffes are funny animals, they are the only ones who are born with horns and they have no vocal chords.
